Abstract

Hypertrophic gingivitis (GH) is an inflammatory disease that is accompanied by hyperplastic processes that have the form of reactive growth of fibrous elements of the connective tissue base and basal cells of the gum epithelium. The aim of the work was to assess the impact of the developed therapeutic and preventive complex (PC) on the hard tissues of teeth, periodontal tissues and the hygienic state of the oral cavity of children with hypertrophic gingivitis. Materials and methods. The study involved 61 children aged 13–16 years with hypertrophic gingivitis (the main group – 32 people, the comparison group – 29 people) from a general secondary education institution. Studies have shown a high efficiency of the proposed treatment and prevention therapy for children with hypertrophic gingivitis, which included drugs “Phenygidine” (FC “Health”, Ukraine), “Microcirculin with lecithin”, (TM “Biola”, Ukraine) and “Fitor” (PJSC “Fitoria”, Ukraine), gels “Oak” and “Grape” and physiotherapy procedures using electrophoresis of lidase and Vitc, magnetic laser therapy and darsonvalization. The developed treatment and prevention complex allowed to significantly improve the dental condition of hard tissues of teeth, periodontal tissues and oral hygiene in comparison with a similar group of children who received only basic therapy and professional oral hygiene. In the main group of children who received comprehensive prevention, the increase in dental caries according to the CPV index for 2 years of follow-up was 1.65 times less than in the comparison group. At the same time, the karyesprofilactic efficacy (KPE) was 39.44 %. In the main group of children who received LPC, the PMA % Index decreased by 1.19 times over 1 year of follow-up, and in the comparison group that received only basic therapy, it increased slightly. In addition, the bleeding index in the main group after 1 year was 1.4 times lower than in the initial state, while in the comparison group it increased by 1.67 times. Conclusions. The developed medical and preventive complex significantly improved the dental condition of hard dental tissues, periodontal tissues and oral hygiene in comparison with a similar group of children who received only basic therapy and professional oral hygiene.
